The POLAR MK2 Column
Six efficient, lightweight 3" neodymium midrange drivers in a low-resonance aluminum profile ensure particularly high-resolution, uncolored reproduction of instruments and the human voice. The 1" precision tweeter combined with the constant-directivity horn provides a wide 120° dispersion for optimal audience coverage.
A completely newly developed connector ensures a secure and smooth connection of the components. Without a spacer, POLAR MK 2 is perfectly aligned for applications such as seating audiences. The column elements are delivered space-saving in a padded transport bag that offers even more safety and protection.
The POLAR MK2 Subwoofer
When it comes to deep bass, volume is irreplaceable. HK Audio relies on applied physics instead of extreme pre-filtering. The newly designed, spacious, and torsion-resistant wooden enclosure effectively suppresses resonances. The high-performance long-throw woofers guarantee clean, tight bass. Cleverly positioned handles on the lid and bottom make transport and handling easier. The padded protective cover for the subwoofer is included.
The Integrated Mixer
POLAR offers a 4-channel mixer including master volume control, Bluetooth 5.0, and TWS audio streaming: two channels for microphones and line signals (e.g., mixer, keyboards), one high-impedance instrument channel (guitar), and one aux channel for DJ equipment or mp3 players, which simultaneously controls Bluetooth audio. The microphone inputs feature switchable phantom power for operating high-resolution condenser microphones. Also integrated is a USB-C charging port for maintaining the charge of smartphones, tablets, and battery-powered wireless microphone receivers without an additional charger.
With Bluetooth TWS (True Wireless Stereo), two POLAR MK 2 systems can be wirelessly linked to play a stereo stream from a tablet or smartphone.

I use it for solo singing with electric piano accompaniment and for extended music with guitar, cajon and other vocals.
The first experience in a village church hall (space for approx. 150 people, a gallery to the side and opposite) surprised me positively. The sound reached every corner of the ground-floor room and even the first row of the gallery was well covered - although with a really full church and a fully occupied gallery, a system for the upper room has to be added! The sound in small or medium-sized halls (for approx. 100 - 200 guests) is clearer and without pitfalls.
The system is perfect for my songwriter-style music and has sufficient reserves. Well positioned, the system can also serve as a monitor if you don't declare your own listening experience to be the measure of all things. I have not yet experienced any feedback when using a headset and have heard myself adequately.
Transportation and assembly are very simple. The subwoofer and top make a very solid impression. This is due to the materials used, which add some weight but are of very high quality and give the whole thing stability. The plug connections between the sub and column are extremely stable. The built-in mixing console is easy to operate, even if you have to maneuver through the individual menus. This can be clearly arranged for the smallest setups. However, I use a small mixing console because it is more convenient if you want to be flexible during a concert. The mini console sits on top of the electric piano and is therefore easier to reach. But the system offers enough options for one voice and one instrument, perhaps a play-in track for intermission music. Once set up, you don't need to change anything.
Small but nice is the cover supplied for the subwoofer and the transport bag for the two-part column. That's a nice touch from HK. It has nothing to do with the acoustics, but that's what I expect from a good manufacturer.
The service from Kirstein was perfect. The delivery was on time. The two original packages were packed in very protective, very sturdy transport boxes, so that the shipment arrived in the very best condition.
