The only drawback is: To install a 9 volt battery, the unit has to be opened (a screwdriver is a must)! A battery compartment accessible from the outside would be desirable! But with 48 Volt phantom power this is not a problem, and the box is not meant for travelling! A ground switch is present, likewise a 30 DB level reduction, here a multi-stage switch, e.g. 10 - 20 - 30 Db would be substantially more meaningful.
Otherwise the thing simply does what it should, namely to adapt a high-impedance source, e.g. electric guitar, to XLR levels, and thus to enable long XLR cable runs without interference. On the input side, a high-quality jack cable is mandatory and should be kept as short as possible! The noise you get from a bad cable is also passed on symmetrically (XLR) despite galvanic isolation.
The bottom line is that this is a sturdily built, almost impossible to kill part for studio and stage! A clear buy recommendation from me!
